If I were a rich girl

Well ... Right now I kind of am *laugh*. For X-Mas my aunt gave me $300 that I can spend how I want parental approval pending. Right now it's looking like it will probably go towards a new dress for the winter formal at my school ... that or some nice new jewelry ... or maybe some new plants, because as you might have guessed from my previous posts I love plants.

So anyways propagation still a pain in the neck, my friends birthday party (sweet 16) is in a few hours (I got her a non-African Violet plant), so my day is pretty full.

Want to know whats really sad? Well my entire winter break is pretty much pre-planed for me so I really don't have time to just relax. *Sigh* (It's so hard being me) I think that I will probably use some of my money to treat myself to a shopping spree though because I really do need to unwind because I don't think that this amount of stress is healthy for me. Regardless my day is already filled to the limit so I'm amazed that I even found time to blog today.

SO ... What not to do to an African Violets

So there is a lot that a person needs to know to be able to care for an African Violet (Though unless you do something really stupid like forget to water them they are almost impossible to kill). So to help all you future African Violet owners out there here is a list of what not to do to an African Violet

What not to do to your African violets:

1. Don't get water on the leaves it will cause dead spots
2. Don't allow sucker plants to grow on the main stem of the plant
3. Don't try to grow them outside (they are indoor plants)
4. Don't place them in direct sunlight
5. Don't place them in dark areas
6. Don't use peat moss
7. Don't keep the plants' soil wet
8. Don't let the soil stayed dried out
9. Don't leave dead leaves or flowers on the plant
10. Don't subject your African Violets to sudden temperature changes
11. Don't run them over with your car (Just in case you thought you could ^o^)

Propagating African Violets takes so long!!!

OK. So 3 days ago I started propagating African violets in my room, and even though I know that the process takes on average 3-5 months to get a strong and stable African Violet by propagation in water (my preferred method) I'm still soooo not taking the waiting well. Right now I'm working on propagating 8 African Violets. I'll probably keep 3 and the other 5 will be gifts to friends. They are simple violets, purple nothing really special about petal shape or the pattern on them. Just propagation's of your cheap everyday $2-3 store bought violets. But hey! it's the thought that counts.

Why did I start this process if I knew that it would take forever and drive me pretty much insane? Well, My friend Kara said that she wanted to get a plant that was fairly easy to care for and still really pretty that she could grow in her bedroom. Naturally I thought of African Violets and in an effort to save her money I am trying to propagate my mothers violet for her. So my two best friends each get a violet and then the other 3 I need to give away will go to some of my other friends that I trust NOT to kill them ... anyways in posts to come I will give people some wise advice on what not to do to African Violets.

Propagating my African Violets

Hey! I don't think I cover this in the about me section but I love plants epically the African Violets (My grandmother had hundreds of them). Well right now I'm trying my hand at propagating them so I can give on to my friend ... well that and the one that we have in my house which belongs to my mother is becoming sickly so I want to make sure we have copies of it in case it does end up dying (which would make me very sad). Anyways I'm making tuns of copies one for each of my closest friends, several for my bedroom, and some as late x-mas presents for my young life leaders.

Chores

Why is it that I'm the only one in my house that ever has to do any of the house chores and up keep? Why is it that my parents can sit around and order me to do things, never minding the fact that I have an older brother just as capable of doing these stupid chores?! I can not believe that anyone in their right minds would be so ... so arrogant as to make their youngest daughter do all the upkeep on their house. I really wish that life were more fair to my part in this crazy world. I mean you try writing a book while doing all the chores and shoveling the drive way while dusting all the wooden things in your house, plus doing AP work, plus having to factor in time for friends. It's impossible! I don't know how much more of this abuse I can take.

X-mas is getting so close!

the x-mas season is almost at an end. soon the lights come down and the festive music dies down. It's almost to sad to handle. I love Christmas I don't want this wonderful and happy time of year to come to an end, it's the one time of year that my entire family can get together and actually be civil. I really wish the feelings of the season could stay all year long. But on a lighter note, I wonder what I'm getting for x-mas?

my friends

so a little bit about me and my friends:

My friend Yuki-chan is blond Russian and overly peppy. She is one of the sweetest woman alive. She is really artistic and though she dose not spell very well but she is a pretty good writer. She is writing a book (with some help from me) called Pure Blood, so if you read this you she read her blog because it's worth your time to read it. though ...Yuki really does not have time to bet on the computer so she does not update all that often.

Than there is Enoki-chan she is such a good writer and so totally...well...random and ... sometimes ... just a little weird (ok so it's most of the time). She is writing a book series called the paper king and her blog for that is definitely worth checking out so you should do that for her.

So my life...

Well i made this blog to kind of run along side my other blog about my books. This blog is about me and my personal life. In other words this place is designed specifically to help me vent about school, the writing process, homework, and various other problems I come accross in my daily life. I would tell you more about my life at the moment but this is just the 1st post and I really don't want anyone over loaded by my life.
